trauma, as defined by Merriam-Webster, means: a disordered or psychic or behavioral state suffering from severe mental or emotional stress or physical injury

Tomorrow when I wake up will it be over

Rather, will I have forgotten what has happened to me

Any recollection could kill me in an instant

Unless that’s the point – for me to die – it certainly feels that way

My brain is exploding and my heart is in pieces

Again and again, with every blink like it’s on repeat
