MHA Poem 8: Anorexia

ANOREXIA

Eat. Run. Sleep.

Repeat.

Eat less than 1,500 calories per day.

That’s what the experts say.

And I could stand to be a little thinner anyway.

Eat. Run. Sleep.

Repeat.

Running is my preferred exercise.

Just thirty minutes per day is fine.

But to burn more calories than I eat, I’m going to run ninety-five.

Eat. Run. Sleep.

Repeat.

Sleeping is supposed to be healthy for you.

But there’s so much that I’ve got to do.

Maybe I should only rest for an hour or two.

Eat. Run. Sleep.

Repeat.

This is the mantra that I need.

My body is slim and I’m a size three!

But it seems like there’s still too much of me.

Eat.

Run.

Sleep.

Repeat.

Eat.

Run.

Repeat.

Run.

Repeat.

Run.

Repeat.

Run…
