Most people keep pictures of their loved ones as their computer and phone backgrounds, right? If they don’t have pictures of their loved ones, they have pictures of their favorite characters. Between friends, significant others, pets, and waifus/husbandos, sometimes we forget that it’s okay to change things ups.
Something I started doing last year, even before Nanowrimo 2018, was stopping putting pictures of my husband and child as my background. For one, I could never get a good crop on the pictures so that my apps weren’t hiding their faces, and for two, I am not great at taking pictures very often. All of my pictures end up being outdated by a few months or so. To change things up, I started putting positive and encouraging quotes on my background instead. My mental health was really bad at the time, too, so it just felt like the only way to combat the war inside my brain.
Today, I consider it a huge part of why I am able to overcome those small, constant battles with my depression and anxiety.
So what is the relevance of this for Nanowrimo? How does this help YOU reach that FINISH LINE? How does this help YOU write FIFTY-THOUSAND WORDS in ONE MONTH? Why does this matter?!
Well, why don’t scroll and let me know how you feel about yourself after…
I think we can both agree that seeing these quotes, you feel more…
More motivated, more confident, more secure, more excited, more dedicated…
More.
SO!
Change the background on your phone, on your computer, on your tablet. It’s not forever. It’s not the end of the world.
But you know what it could be?
A door waiting for you to open it and see who you are on the other side.
SO… Do it.
Change your background.
Unlock potential you didn’t know you had!
