Becoming Part of the Other-where

Writer's picture: Alixx BlackAlixx Black
Escapril Prompt #21: it’s the end of the world

The all-consuming blackness from space rains down Our planet is becoming part of the other-where A once loud existence suffocates in the void of sound Stars are drowning us and our place in the universe is left bare

There’s no proof that Earth was here at all Our footprint in astrological history is erased The pride that humankind carried is gone in the fall And there is no way for us to be replaced

As with all things, an end must always come Even our incorporeal beliefs cannot save us from that We have nowhere left to go, no place to run Seeing the journey close for our people isn’t that bad

Somewhere in the vastness of life in all of space and time Somewhere the story of Earth’s humans will become a nursery rhyme.
